So I got my inspiration from my two best friends, Connor and Claire. The three colors that were used for each person is that person’s favorite color, and I was amazed at how well our colors looked together. The term “The Three Amigos” is what we call ourselves. At first with this design, I was going to use this one in the sketch. But as I was working on it, I got the idea for silhouette outlines for our faces. This changed however where I could put the main title, since it would block the faces from being seen. I added our names to balance out the empty spaces.
The hair on this one took me a while to figure out. I had the basic dress style down, but her hair kept either looking to big or too crazy. I ended up getting inspired by a character from the Studio Ghibli movie Howl’s Moving Castle, and went with a side braid. The pink dress I thought would be simple and cute, but I had to change the top color to at least showoff her puff sleeve.
